Visit of the COGEVI House

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Cité du Champagne invites you to discover the historic headquarters of the oldest cooperative in the region Champagne still in operation: the Maison de la Cogevi. This visit gives you the opportunity to discover a collection of nearly 1,500 documents and objects freely, at your own pace, and to gain exceptional access to the first floor of the house. Targeted by the insurgents during the 1911 uprising, this building, which still bears the stigma, has become a museum space dedicated to the history of the Coopérative Générale des Vignerons. The chronological and educational itinerary illustrates the development of the cooperative movement, the creation of the Champagne appellation and the evolution of the vineyard in the 20th century from historical, social, political and economic perspectives.
